As an existing platform for learning, the ICC had in the past focused solely on guinea worm eradication, however, with the attainment of a zero status of guinea worm infections in the region, the committee has started discussing broader WASH sector issues including sustainability of water services in the region.

Triple-S is therefore collaborating with the ICC to widen its focus  to include sustainable water services to avert a slippage in the progress towards the eradication of guinea worm in the region. Triple-S is piloting the Service Delivery Approach in three regions of Ghana including the Northern Region and with East Gonja as the focal district for the project. As part of the projects intervention, activities will be geared towards  strengthening sector learning capacity .

At the district level, Triple-S will lead the process to establish a District Learning Alliance Platform in East Gonja District, where a common water sector platform for learning is non existent.

Both the regional and district learning alliance meetings, will create a platform for various stakeholders to come together  to learn, innovate and scale-up. The collaboration will ensure Triple-S supports the ICC to document, publish  and share the learning from their meetings across the region. An initial meeting has been held to market the Learning Alliance concept to members of the ICC in Tamale . A presentation made to the members of all sector agencies and stakeholders with in the Northern Region addressed the approach to learning alliance platform meetings.
