CWSA leads the process to develop a District Operational Manual

The manual will serve as a reference document to guide the local government in the delivery of sustainable water and sanitation services to rural communities and small towns under its jurisdiction.

Consultation with various key stakeholders from all ten regions of Ghana have been conducted to provide opportunities for stakeholders in the water sector to make inputs into the document and solicit their buy-in. Participants included representatives of District Assemblies, Regional Coordinating Councils, Regional Economic Planning and Coordinating Units, Non-Governmental Organisations and selected staff of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency.

Mr. Johnson Ampah, Chief Water Supply Engineer of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency in the Volta Region who participated in the Southern Zonal consultation speaks about how such a document will impact sustainability of rural water services in Ghana.
