A synthesis report produced by the Triple-S Project in Ghana on rural water service levels has affirmed international estimates of non functionality levels of about 30% of point sources.

On Tuesday 23 October 2012, the Triple-S Project presented synthesis findings from baseline data collected from three pilot districts on rural water services in Ghana to a Technical Committee of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency. The findings are based on data collected from the Akatsi, East Gonja and Sunyani West Districts on functionality of facilities, level of water services provided and performance of service provider and support and service authority functions.
Following the presentation, emerging issues from the study and areas for further action research areas from the findings were discussed. Concept notes on the following research areas where discussed with the participants.
