The Community Water and Sanitation Agency takes a unified approach with new single source documents.
Published on: 05/03/2014
The Community Water and Sanitation Agency, after many years of adopting different approaches in facilitating delivery of water supply in the rural water sub-sector, has consolidated the lessons into single source documents to guide delivery in the sector.
While collaboration among the various sector agencies to achieve this objective is desirable, it has not been the default choice thus far.
These include a national community water and sanitation strategy to guide approaches for the for implementing the National Community Water and Sanitation programmme, a project implementation manual to guide the procedures and processes for project implementation and district implementation manual clarifying the roles of local government and a guide for their participation in the delivery of water services.
While collaboration among the various sector agencies to achieve this objective of a well harmonised sector is desirable, it has not been the default choice thus far.
It is expected that these documents will provide the framework and reference for adopting a common approach for delivery sustainable services in Ghana.
