The manufacture of direct action handpumps for use with domestic rainwater harvesting tanks

Four low-cost handpumps are considered in this document. The manual describes in detail the construction of 4 simple designs of handpump: the DTU handpump, the Tamana handpump, the "Harold" handpump, and the enhanced inertia handpump. This technical publication was developed as a training manual for teaching artisans in Uganda how to make the pumps.
