Abstract

This report represents the final evaluation of the four-year CARE Child Survival and Rural Sanitation Project in Bolivia which was financed by the US Agency for International Development. The project began in August 1986, and had been set up to address the principle causes of illness and death among children under the age of four in the rural communities of Bolivia. The project had three main components: a. the provision of health services, including health education; b. the provision of potable water and sanitation; c. community organization and participation.
