Abstract

This thesis investigates the feasibility of water lifting technologies for Thailand, concentrating on hand pumps, diesel pumps and photovoltaic systems. A computer model is used to assess which water lifting device would be best suited to conditions in Thailand. A performance test of a local positive displacement reciprocating pump was made and the feasibility of positive displacement pumps coupled with photovoltaic array was also discussed.
