Abstract

This slide series is a composition of seven themes. First it describes some generalities about the Southern Darfur province. The second part covers the small scale irrigation for which water is taken from dug wells because of the scarcity of surface water. Part three is about the construction of wells and the materials used. The fourth part describes the role of the water vendors. The fifth theme covers the drilling of boreholes for water pumps. The sixth part of the series covers the Kardia hand pump, its maintenance and use. The last theme of this series describes the workshops in Nyala.
