Abstract

Aims to give an overview of current information on the economic benefits derived from rural water supply interventions and to develop a framework for analysis and planning. Emphasis is placed on the factors which promote economic development, the distribution and use of these benefits and the implications for project planning and future research. It also has appendices with guidelines on measuring of time and water gains and the assessment of the economic impact of time and water uses.
