Abstract

Involvement of the community in the planning of the project through village mapping is shown as well as the use of geological groundwater survey techniques. A woman from the village is appointed as promoter for community management. Water supply is improved by upgrading of existing water points. In an area with brackish groundwater water from irrigation canals is used for drinking water. It is shown how drainage of wastewater at the water point and from houses is taken care of. As latrines are not common in the villages use is promoted through school health education and street theatre.
