Abstract

The household water consumption was measured of 1000 families in the Netherlands in 1992. The following types of use were measured: baths, showers, wash-hand basins, toilet flushing, washing machines, and washing dishes by dishwashers and by hand. The findings which were compared to those of an earlier study in 1980, will be used in a water-saving campaign by the Netherlands Waterworks Association (VEWIN).
