Abstract

This article discusses the potential of communications for promoting sustainable development in both the South and the North. It challenges today's communications processes within the centres of decision-making and outlines the changes needed to promote sustainable development by bridging the communications gap, revitalizing local and indigenous economies, using better information systems, opening education institutions, and enhancing the role of business and governments.
