Abstract

This monograph provides an evaluation of 12 wastewater stabilization ponds systems in Kenya. The main performance indicators were BOD removal and faecal coliform die-off. Also studied were algal populations, algae control and sludge accumulation. Recommendations are provided for pond process design (anaerobic ponds, primary facultative ponds, secondary facultative ponds, and maturation ponds) and for physical design
