Abstract

This video is about a UNDP - World Bank Water and Sanitation Program project in Nepal in rural water supply. The project is community-based and is seen a pilot for JAPAS, which is a development fund set up by the Government of Japan. Apart from showing the construction activities of this project, the video also shows how the community's involvement in the project was encouraged. An explanation is also given of how funding was obtained from JAPAS. The film also emphasizes how the savings in time spent collecting water helped women by giving them more time for other income generating activities.
