Abstract

This document presents the policies and programmes of the Netherlands Government for water-related activities in developing countries. It elaborates on a pledge made by the Government at the 2nd World Water Forum in March 2000 to make an additional NLG 100 million per year available for activities aimed at building institutional capacities to achieve integrated water resources management. The document describes collaboration activities at the international level, partnerships with multilateral organizations, thematic programmes, bilateral cooperation and cooperation with private organizations. An annex provides an overview of country programmes in Bangladesh, Cape Verde, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mali, Mozambique, Pakistan, Palestine, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Viet Nam, and Yemen.
