| Abstract | The government of Nepal has committed itself to halving the numbers of people that are unserved with water and/or sanitation by 2015. In addition it is considering providing full water supply coverage by 2015 and full sanitation coverage by 2025. This report identifies all the resources currently available in the water and sanitation sector in Nepal, estimates the resources required to meet the above targets, and calculates the resource gap. i.e. the extra government and donor funds required. Estimates are provided for: current drinking water and sanitation coverage; current and projected population; unit costs for rural and urban water supply; current and planned resources, and; annual rehabilitation costs. |
