Abstract

This CD-ROM contains documentation on sanitation projects in South Africa. The CD is partitioned as follows:
1). Pictures by Subject: a collection of pictures on a number of subjects, which enable a Facilitator to illustrate various points.
2). Slide shows: a number of pictures arranged into a slide show for presentation purposes.
3). Sanitation projects: contains the documentation that is used to implement sanitation projects. The documentation is based on the assumption that the implementers subscribe to the SARAR philosophy and will allow a demand driven approach. It includes the legislation that governs the work and two case studies showing how the base line information and legislation can be used to argue against waterborne sewage and for alternatives such as EcoSan. The term urine diversion is used in the documents in stead of EcoSan as it was found that people understood what this meant.
