Amman seven principles and policy recommendations for improved local water governance

The Seven principles and policy recommendations presented in this booklet is the outcome of a two-year (Nov 2005 - June 2007) consultative process that culminated in the adoption of the seven principles in The Regional Forum on Local Water Governance, held in Amman-Jordan on June 6-7, 2007. These principles and recommendations advocate policy and institutional arrangements that are necessary to enable local government and community organizations engage in a planning and management of water resources that are equitable, effective, and sustainable.
