Abstract

In November 2011, the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights reviewed Israel for compliance with the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, including in the occupied Palestinian territory (OPT). After consultation with its members and field visits, EWASH and Palestinian human rights organization al-Haq presented their own report to the Committee, which receives reports from non-governmental organisations and civil
society on a regular basis, detailing violations by the government of Israel of the human rights to water and sanitation in the OPT. [authors abstract]
