Abstract

The report reviews eight years of progress in the BRAC WASH programme since its start in 2006. While the programme has succeeded in bringing hygiene, sanitation and water services to millions of low-income rural people, the level of donor funding is set to decrease significantly. The meeting, which brought together BRAC staff, donors, partners and external experts, discussed how BRAC could address the changing donor landscape strategically.

The report then looks at the BRAC WASH programme's achievements, challenges and plans in hygiene promotion, sanitation, strengthening supply chains, school sanitation, faecal sludge management, water supply, the life cycle cost approach (LCCA), and monitoring. It concludes with recommendations on the way forward in terms of funding and learning and sharing.
