The Osprey Foundation and IRC share the same strategic vision, and, together with other key partners, conceived and brought the Agenda For Change movement to life. In addition to the Osprey Foundation's continuing support of this movement; which focuses on building the national and local systems needed to deliver safe and sustainable access to water and sanitation; they continue to support IRC in ensuring that its flagship programmes have the support they need to function optimally.

Louis Boorstin, Osprey Foundation's Managing Director, said: "IRC plays a key role in the water and sanitation sector because it works to strengthen the local systems – government, private sector and community groups – to deliver safe and sustained services to the poor. That's not as easy as just digging wells or giving away toilets, but it's much more likely to result in water and sanitation services that meet the needs of poor communities over the long run."

IRC will use this investment to support its systems led thinking and approach, communicate at key international and sectoral events, and assist in activities around its 50th anniversary celebrations.

IRC's CEO Patrick Moriarty expressed his excitement at the opportunity the grant provides to support IRC's historic position as a champion and thought leader within the WASH sector.

Patrick Moriarty said: "IRC is very lucky to have the Osprey Foundation as a partner. They not only provide financial support, they fundamentally understand that building strong national systems is the only way to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and end aid dependency."
