Abstract

This keynote presentation discusses the need to address WASH-related Loss and Damage (L&D) and its impacts in Bangladesh, based on studies by WaterAid. It focuses on the effects and post-disaster recovery and resilience costs of floods and cyclones on WASH infrastructure. The presentation also gives examples of the overall economic and non-economic damages caused by cyclones between 2007 and 2022. WaterAid Bangladesh calls for better data and more research on economic and non-economic L&D.
