Gezahegn Lemecha Boru joined the IRC WASH Ethiopia team in March 2019 as a Monitoring advisor. Since July 2019, he is working as a Systems Strengthening Team Manager. He has over 27 years' work experience as a mineral exploration geologist, Geotechnical Engineer, hydrogeologist and remote sensing and GIS expert. He has worked with government, public, private organisations and the UN in different capacities including senior leadership positions. He has a BSC degree in Geology and an MSC degree in Remote Sensing and GIS, both from Addis Ababa University.
Major projects completed with IRC include supporting district WASH master planning, expenditure tracking, monitoring system strengthening using building blocks, context analysis, government led monitoring, and facilitation of learning alliance platforms.
The Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) of Ethiopia held a workshop to discuss creating an Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Regulatory Authority.
