Alana Potter joined IRC as a sanitation and hygiene specialist in late 2007.

She led as IRC Africa Regional, engaging with country programmes in Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda, Mozambique and Burkina Faso in order to inform and influence the Africa regional WASH agenda, sector learning and knowledge management through country experience and evidence. She established an MoU with the African Minister's Council (AMCOW) to collaboratively strengthen regional WASH monitoring, sector learning and knowledge management towards the achievement of the SDGs.

She brings 19 years' experience in water, sanitation and hygiene programme design; reviews and evaluations; policy and strategy development and monitoring frameworks employing a range of innovative process design, evaluation and communication methods.
