| Abstract | This CD-ROM is a product of the Water on the Web consortium (http://www.waterweb.org/). This group founded at the Water on the Web Workshop held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on October 23-24, 1998, was organized to promote the sharing of information about water and the earth's environment among scientists, managers, and the general public. The Water on the Web consortium seeks to create a global community by; bringing together educational, governmental, nonprofit, and commercial organizations interested in advancing water resources research, conservation, and management. It also seeks to advance water related issues, promote the use of quality information in decision making, and to increase the accessibility to water information and technology to water managers and communities. This CD is an experiment to determine the usefulness of distributing World Wide Web based information and reviewed site information in a CD-ROM format. |
